Events-Goderich is home to a long list of annual festivals and events that draw thousands of visitors to the community each year. Watch us come alive every season of the year through our culturally diverse festivals, with everything from the Celtic Roots Festival to the Bluesfest. There is truly an event to suit every taste in Goderich.

 

The Arts-Heritage Tours, Museums, Gallery's and Studio's its all available in and around Huron County.

 

Goderich Farmer's& Flea Markets -Located in downtown Goderich on the square. From Victoria Day long weekend to Thanksgiving weekend. Saturday's from 8am-1pm is the Farmers Market features local crafts, honey, baked goods, fruits, veggies, maple syrup, meats and much more. Then on Sunday's 9am-3pm is the Flea Market featuring artisans, antiques, local crafts and plants.

SHOPPING

Shop"The Square" Heritage Shopping District offering over 200 stores featuring something to suit everyone's taste. Some big box stores and a mall makes for some city type shopping in a small town atmosphere.

FISHING

For those of you who like to fish there are many fishing opportunities in and around the area. These include rainbow trout, salmon and bass. For the kids small mouth bass and rock bass are easy entertainment to catch. The rivers which hold these types of opportunities include Bayfield River 15 minutes south of Goderich, The Maitland River in Goderich, and the Saugeen  River 45 minutes north of Port Albert.

 

Then of course there is the Nine Mile River that runs right through Port Albert and is across the street from our cottage. Conveniently, there is also the Port Albert General Store which sells basic fishing equipment such as floats, weights, hooks and line. Along with bait worms and fish row for line.

 

For those boat fisherman there is a boat launch into the Maitland River to Lake Huron.

BIKING & HIKING

Hiking-This natural location allows for there to be an abundance of hiking trails around the area. There are three local trails right in the Town of Goderich, and many more in Huron County.
